TLMHR, Inc. Publicity Page

The Lippitt Morgan Horse Registry, Inc. ia a non-profit organization dedicated to the Lippitt Morgan Horse. We register, DNA, and track all Lippitts. The Lippitt Morgan Horse is recognized as a "rare living antique" coming from a small gene pool. Today it has been estimated that there are fewer than 2000 living Lippitts of which there are even fewer breedable mares. This rare Morgan family is truly endangered and teeters on the brink of extinction. The Lippitt Morgan Horse Registry, Inc. will maintain an aggressive presence in the eye of the public via exhibitions, the use of the internet, and providing assistance in rescues as well as providing educational materials upon request.

THE LIPPITT MORGAN HORSE REGISTRY AT EQUIFEST KANSAS  2022

The Lippitt Morgan Horse Registry Inc. was welcomed to Equifest Kansas March 18, 19 and 20, 2022, in Salina, Kansas for their annual well-attended event. Over 17,000 people attended this year over the three days even with ongoing “interesting” weather.
TLMHR was well represented by two outstanding Lippitts.  Stallion Devine Cool Hand Luke, owned and presented by Chris Holm, came from Montana, an 18 hour drive, to represent the Lippitt Morgan.   Ash Royalty Rowan Moro from eastern Kansas was presented by both Sydney and Emma Myers.
Luke had won 2021 Reining World Champion at the Morgan Grand National show in October. He was also Reserve World Champion in Non Pro Reining and first in Non Pro Adult Reining.   He had quite a following and showed some of his Grand Champion Reining moves for the crowds. Luke is an  excellent example of a Lippitt in the western discipline.  Rowan was shown hunt seat by two youths.  Rowan is shown in local open and 4H shows and is also a family pleasure horse.  Both Lippitts showing two disciplines, and a non- professional rider and two youth riders demonstrated to the crowds that the Lippitt is indeed a versatile horse.  Lippitts succeed in whatever discipline their owners choose to do with them.
TLMHR presented our horses in four demonstrations,  two of which were in Endangered Breed demos.  The Lippitt Morgan is listed as critically endangered by both Equus Survival Trust and by the Livestock Conservancy.  TLMH Registry was instrumental several years ago in helping the Lippitt attain recognition in this status. We filled out several pages of information for those entities to help recognize our breed/family as critically endangered  The announcers in our Demos went off script twice to say how they had such a hard time realizing that “these horses are endangered”   They had mentioned “why?  Why wouldn’t anyone want these beautiful, original Morgans who can perform many disciplines”.
It is always satisfying when people follow our horses back to the barn and ask questons  and visit our booth with educational materials and sales items.  It is always enjoyable talking with the public about our Lippitt Morgans.   TLMHR also had two presentations in Kenwood Hall, which provided 20 minutes of information and “WHY IT IS IMPORTANT TO SAVE THIS HORSE”. Educating the public about our Lippitt Morgans, what they are, and why you would want one today, is an important part of the Lippitt Morgan Horse Registry’s focus. Our purpose , besides registering and DNA’ing purebred Lippitts, is to PROTECT, PRESERVE AND PROMOTE THE PURE BRED LIPPITT MORGAN.
We were also pleased to be live- interviewed by “Everything Horse and Livestock Magazine”, and the Equifest official photographer has also contacted us about articles in two other regional publications.  We want to thank Equifest and Justine Staten of Kansas Horse Council for their huge support of our endeavors on behalf of the Lippitt Morgan and the Lippitt Morgan Horse Registry.  Remember, this is YOUR Registry to embrace to PROTECT, PRESERVE AND PROMOTE THE LIPPITT MORGAN HORSE.  And, remember we are a NON Profit 501c3 tax status and we do rely on sales items on our website.  We have NO members.  We are a BOD of dedicated people on task with our stated purpose.
